World Biodiversity Day

by | May 22, 2020

The essential relationship between #biodiversity and human culture reminds us that our solutions are in #nature ”
Today on the #worldbiodiversityday , globally, the importance of nature for people and culture, and exploring how some cultures promote the sustainable use of biodiversity is being discussed. Indigenous peoples and local communities constitute much of humanity’s linguistic and cultural diversity, which is intimately linked to biological diversity. Their traditional knowledge systems are crucial for protecting the world’s rapidly declining biodiversity.
Conserving biodiversity is key for a future where people have sufficient food supplies, agriculture keeps on producing what it ought to, where there is resilience to pests and diseases, where fresh water is in sufficient supply, where climate changes is mitigated, and many more.
On World Biodiversity Day (22nd May) let us commit to cooperate for sustainable development and biodiversity conservation
