GSAS Facilities Management for Major Oil & Gas Plant in Qatar

The Challenge

A major international oil and gas operator’s Qatar processing facility required GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) certification for its integrated facility management operations. The facility management contractor needed to demonstrate compliance with GORD’s sustainability standards across energy management, water conservation, waste management, indoor environment quality, and maintenance operations.

Our Approach

Our Qatar-based team, as an accredited GSAS Service Provider, delivered end-to-end certification consultancy:

  • Gap assessment: Baseline evaluation of existing FM operations against GSAS Operations scheme criteria.
  • Documentation: Preparation of all GSAS submission documents including energy audits, water efficiency reports, waste management plans, and IAQ monitoring data.
  • Implementation support: Guided the FM team through operational improvements needed to meet certification thresholds.
  • GORD submission: Managed the formal certification submission and review process with GORD assessors.

Outcome

The facility achieved GSAS Facilities Management certification, making it one of the few industrial facilities in Qatar with green building certification for ongoing operations rather than just design and construction.
