Climate Adaptation
Carbon & ClimateClimate adaptation is the process of adjusting to current or expected climate change and its effects. For organisations, it involves assessing physical climate risks (flooding, heat stress, water scarcity, storms), developing resilience strategies, investing in protective infrastructure, and integrating climate projections into long-term planning. Adaptation is distinct from mitigation (reducing emissions) and is required under TCFD, ISSB, and CSRD frameworks. IPCC AR6 provides the scientific basis for adaptation planning.
