Paris Agreement
Carbon & ClimateThe Paris Agreement is a legally binding international treaty on climate change adopted by 196 parties at COP21 in Paris (2015). Its goal is to limit global warming to well below 2°C, preferably 1.5°C, compared to pre-industrial levels. Countries submit Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) every five years with progressively ambitious targets. The Agreement established the framework for global climate finance, adaptation, and transparency that underpins all corporate climate strategy and regulation.
