Renewable Energy
Carbon & ClimateRenewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a rate faster than they are consumed — solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass. Renewable energy procurement is a primary Scope 2 decarbonisation strategy. Instruments include Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs/GOs), green tariffs, and on-site generation. India targets 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030; the EU aims for 42.5% renewables by 2030.
